Epping Colts First Team Through to Radford Cup Grand Final
Prodigy - 13 July 2013
Our Colts team wrapped up first place and the minor premiership in the Radford Cup competition this week with a 15-5 win over Blue Mountains at McQuade Park, Windsor.
The win puts the Epping Colts 13 points clear at the top of the table with two competition rounds to go. The Colts now have the opportunity to complete their season undefeated when they take on Roseville at Somerville Oval in two weeks' time.
Finishing minor premiers means that the boys go straight through to the Grand Final and also means the club has the rights to host the game at Somerville Oval on August 10, which coincides with a Wet Weather weekend for the senior grades.
Coach Nathan Harvey is extremely pleased to have consolidated top spot. "This is what we have been working for all year. Funnily enough, the first comp game that we played this year was against Blue Mountains and we took our home game to Blacktown where our senior grades were playing. The game that we wrap up first spot was against Blue Mountains, who took their home game to where their senior grades were playing. Both games ended up 15-5."
This will be the first grand final that the Rams have played in since the 2005 season, when the club's top three grades made the decider on its way to the Division Three Club Championship.
